The lyrics of "Joy to the World" were written by Isaac Watts in the year 1719. He was an English-text author and non-conformist. Isaac was jailed twice for his extreme views. He wrote a number of Christmas carols and hymns. In 1728, he was honored with an award of a Doctor of Divinity degree by the University of Edinburgh. He was also known as the "father of hymnody" as he wrote more than 600 hymns. Also, his approach of writing gave a New Testament meaning and style. "Joy to the World", a written composition is taken from the last half of Psalm 98. The music of this carol is given by George Frederick Handel. The song tells about the god divine ways by which he protects and guides his chosen people. So, this Christmas, sing this lovely Christmas carol with your friends and family. Check out the lyrics in the following lines.Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.
No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.
