To make you sing here are the
lyrics of the Christmas carol 'Silent Night'.
As we know that originally the Christmas carol
'Silent Night' was a poem written by an Austrian Priest Joseph Mohr
in 1816. It is said that on the Christmas Eve of 1818 in the small
village of Alpine called oberndorf the organ at St. Nicholas Church
had broken. So Joseph Mohr gave the poem to his friend Franz Xavier
Gruber and it was composed with this in mind. The music to this poem
was therefore intended for a guitar and the simple score was
finished in time for the Midnight Mass. Silent Night is still
regarded as the most famous Christmas carol of all time!
Silent Night
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth '
